Although Egypt is famous for its pyramids and ancient culture, there are actually nearly twice as many pyramids in the ancient area of the northern Sandbox. Although we haven’t taken the desert drive to go see them yet, we did visit the National Museum in the Sandbox not long ago, which holds extensive artifacts and information from the Sandbox’s ancient history.
Actually, when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, we found out that the museum is closed on Saturdays. However, a guard with a key let us in to see some of the exhibits for a small fee. (There are advantages to living in a place where rules are often, shall we say, “flexible”!)
